Depending on which way the wind is blowing, you may read someone predict a stock market crash if Donald Trump is elected or you may read that a crash will occur if Hillary Clinton is elected. While there could be volatility following the election, the stock market throughout its history has been a place of day to day uncertainty and that means volatility in stock prices.
When it comes to the stock market, you know how I emphasize the importance of the balance sheet as a measure of a company’s financial health and financial flexibility. While day to day volatility cannot be removed from the stock market, we can use the balance sheet as an important investing tool toward proper risk assessment and valuation.
But the stock market is not the only thing that is uncertain. Life on earth is filled with uncertainties.
I’ve shared often concerning my faith in Jesus Christ. Whatever lies ahead, God is not wringing His hands. He is not troubled by who becomes President or what the Fed does next. But He does know the number of hairs on a person’s head and when a sparrow falls to the ground. In Matthew 10: 29-31, Jesus spoke these words to His disciples:
“29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” (New International Version, Bible)
If the Lord cares for the sparrow, He surely cares for us. To know Jesus Christ, is to know real life, eternal life. I close with this verse from John 17:3 (NIV, Bible)
“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”
Amen. Yes, indeed life is uncertain but we trust Jesus who will take care of everything.
Thank you for the post.
