In God’s Word, we read these words in I Thessalonians chapter 5, vs. 11:

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

Only God can make and keep absolute promises about the future with certainty.  He can always encourage us right where we are. Through Jesus Christ, His Son, He has provided not only for our earthly journeys but, more importantly, for the absolute certainty of eternal life to all who believe:

John 3:16-18:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

I share my faith in Christ here and His words of hope out of thanksgiving for what He has done for me. Every moment of life is a blessing from Him and to know Christ as Lord and as personal Savior brings purpose to all things in my life, including “blogging.” My desire is to encourage others to know Jesus Christ and also to take hold of the incredible promises He makes that are there to claim as one’s own; for God is faithful to do all He says.

So, today, I hope you will be encouraged as you read the following several selected scriptures which concern God’s wonderful promises to all who take Him at His Word.

Isaiah 40:31

“but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.”

Proverbs 3: 5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 1: 33

but whoever listens to me will live in safety
    and be at ease, without fear of harm.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

I Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep in perfect peace
    those whose minds are steadfast,
    because they trust in you.

Philippians 4: 6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

II Corinthians 4: 17-18

17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

All verses above are from the New International Version Bible. May He bless you and encourage you with His wonderful promises today.

See you next time.
