Interest Rates, G-20 Summit and Tariffs

Hey friends. I’m sure you know that the stock market has been fretting of late over different matters. Probably two of the larger concerns deal with:

(1) the future of interest rates and

(2) escalating rhetoric of full-blown trade war between the U.S. and China. […]

Giving Thanks

Dear Friends,

As Thanksgiving approaches again, I give thanks for all the wonderful blessings God has lavished upon me. I give Him thanks for each of you! You have supported me in my efforts with writing a book and with sharing thoughts through this blog. Please know how much your support continues to mean to me! Thanks for providing feedback and sharing interesting ideas — sometimes ideas that have led to postings. Thank you for taking valuable time to read my posts.

May you and your families have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Paul

Follow-Up to Last Week’s Post

Hey Friends,

I hope you’ve had a good final week of October and start to November! Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. Today, a continuance of sorts on last week’s post will be offered. […]

“THIS” Stock Market

Today, permit me to share a very recent interaction I had with a reader of my book, “Choose Stocks Wisely.” I’ve had several good e-mail conversations with this friend over recent years and he posed an interesting observation in our latest interaction. He wrote the following: […]

Interesting Post — Next Time

Dear Friends,

I had planned on writing a post this weekend based on some very interesting information I received from a reader of my book, “Choose Stocks Wisely.” The information is rather eye-opening relative to what history reveals about the present stock market. Now that I’ve captured your interest, please forgive me for saying I’ll share the post next weekend, God willing. While some property we have in the Florida panhandle didn’t receive any major damage this week, the storm did alter our timetable. As do some of you I’m sure, we have friends who were adversely impacted. May God in His great wisdom provide for the needs there! See you next week.

Paul

Shelf Offerings

Hello friends. Today’s post will briefly discuss shelf offerings. A shelf offering (or shelf registration) is not an actual offering (or issuance) of equity (stock) securities or debt securities. Rather it is a registration of securities with the SEC that allows a company to issue securities covered by the filing at any time over the three years following the filing. This permits a company to raise capital at opportune times as the securities are already registered for issuance. […]

Most Important Part of Choose Stocks Wisely Method

Hello friends. Today’s post shares what I believe is the most important part of the Choose  Stocks Wisely methodology. That part is the “quality” balance sheet scorecard checkup. To discuss this is timely, I believe, as more and more people wonder where the stock market heads from here. […]

Happy Labor Day, Friends

Dear Friends,

May God bless you and your families. I hope you have good moments of sharing with those you love this holiday weekend. As I get older, time passed reveals that my days used up are often almost a blur as the clock seems to accelerate. Considering how quickly summer of 2018 is drawing to a close, I’m mindful of the words found in James 4:14 (from the New Living Translation, Bible): […]

Knowing God

Hey friends. Did you know the Bible gives a one sentence description of eternal life? It does in John 17:3. This is how it reads in the New International Version Bible: […]

PostScript: More on When Big Stock Losses Happen

(update: See note in bold on DRYS at end of post)

Hey dear friends. I decided to do a follow-up post today (to the one from two weeks ago) on Helios and Matheson Analytics Inc (stock symbol HMNY). It is one of those stock stories that will go down in the history books in my view. Episodes like this in the stock market are worth studying for the lessons they can teach. I’ll simply share more of the story now without addressing the myriad of lessons, but they are there by the bucket-load in my view. […]
